Liz Stapleton - Licensed and Certified Professional Electrologist

Hello - and welcome to my new site!

My name is Liz Stapleton and I studied Electrology at Salan's School of Electrolysis in Oak Park, Illinois and completed my training in 1974. I am a board member of AEA (American Electrology Association), Vice President of EAI (Electrology Association of Illinois), and I am certified to teach Electrology.

I've also served as editor of Electrology World, the professional journal published by AEA for its members world-wide. As well, I am a life-time learner and always seeking new information and education that will enhance my skills and knowledge so I can offer my clients the highest level of customer satisfaction. Working in a dermatology office setting allows me to broaden my learning opportunities on the physiology of the skin and the latest age-defying techniques to enhance one's appearance.

The title of CPE (Certified Professional Electrologist) is an identifiable credential that validates competency, integrity, and professionalism. This is the voluntary professional credential recognized by the American Electrology Association and the Electrology Association of Illinois. I hold a B.A. degree from Southern Illinois University and an MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management.

My Philosophy -

In our society, the presence of unwanted facial or body hair has deep cultural significance and can be a source of great distress for women and men alike. At best, it's an embarrassing cosmetic issue, and at worst, it contributes to profound struggles with self-esteem. Like many electrologists, I became interested in the profession while undergoing treatments myself, and after practicing for twenty years, I know how the problem of unwanted hair can affect one's self-image and confidence. It is a health and social issue for both women and men alike. In my practice, I offer complimentary consultations where I take a medical history, ascertain the client's goals, and try to answer the client's questions clearly and honestly. I find that a straight-forward discussion at the beginning saves frustration down the road.

Some common questions addressed at the consultation:

  • Approximate time to meet your goal
  • How to manage hair growth between appointments
  • How long to wait between appointments
  • What to expect in terms of discomfort
  • What to expect in terms of skin reaction
  • Infection control standards utilized

My commitment to my clients is to provide honest and complete information and to do my best to enhance my clients' self-confidence through permanent hair removal.
